Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. cider vinegar
1/3 c. water
1 can beets, sliced or diced
Preparation

Drain beets.
Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add vinegar and water and bring to boil. Simmer about 5 minutes until sauce is clear.
Add drained beets and stir well.
Let stand at least 1/2 hour.
Rewarm and add butter before serving.
