Canned Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced squash
    6 medium onions, sliced
    1/4 c. salt
    3 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. turmeric powder
Preparation
    In a pan, put squash, onions and salt.
    Cover with ice; let stand for 3 hours.
    Drain.
    Cook vinegar, sugar, seed and turmeric; bring to boil.
    Add squash; cook for 3 minutes.
    Put into jars and seal.
