Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 Tbsp. cocoa
    3/4 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, well beaten
    1 c. all purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1-1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Melt cocoa and shortening together.
    Gradually beat sugar into well-beaten eggs and add to cocoa mixture.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt; then sift again.
    Add dry ingredients to egg mixture.
    Add vanilla and pecans.
    Pour and spread in greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes. For a chewey brownie do not over-bake.
    These are good frosted or without frosting.
    Yield:
    2-3 dozen.
