Pepper Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 red sweet peppers
    20 green sweet peppers
    14 onions
    1 qt. brown sugar
    1 qt. white sugar
    1 qt. vinegar
Preparation
    Slice and soak the peppers and onions overnight in ice water with 1 cup of salt.
    Drain.
    Mix the sugars and vinegar; pour over peppers and onions and heat (boil) until juice thickens.
    Put in jars and seal.
