Grandmother'S Onion Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large onion
    1 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. milk (scant)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg
Preparation
    Peel onions; slice in 1/8 to 1/4-inch thickness.
    Separate rings; keep larger ones to fry, smaller ones for seasoning later on.
    Keep ones to fry dry.
    Beat eggs and milk together.
    Sift flour, salt, sugar and baking powder in a bowl.
    Add liquid, a little at a time.
    Have butter melted.
    Heat fat to 360\u00b0.
    Drop in a few onions, dipped in batter.
    Turn rings once; dip out on paper towels.
