Ingredients

4 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. cake flour
3/4 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Grease pan.
Place eggs and salt in bowl over hot water.
Beat until the eggs are thick and lemon colored.
Beat sugar in gradually.
Remove from the heat. Stir flour before measuring.
Resift with baking powder, cinnamon and cloves.
Fold in the sifted ingredients and vanilla.
Bake the batter for about 13 minutes.
When removed from the oven, loosen the edges.
Reverse the pan onto a clean towel that has been dusted with confectioners sugar.
Roll the cake while still hot, with the towel and place on a rack to cool.
