Fresh Tomato Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. bread crumbs, divided
5 tomatoes, peeled and sliced
1 onion, diced
1/4 lb. American cheese
1 tsp. sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3 strips bacon, cut in half
season to taste
Preparation

Butter a 9-inch pie plate and cover with all but a small amount of crumbs.
Fill with alternating layers of tomatoes, onions and cheese.
Combine seasoning and eggs and pour over layers.
Top with remaining crumbs and arrange bacon slices on top.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until crisp.
Cool slightly before serving.
