Vegetable Beef Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. cooking oil
    2 lb. beef
    2 medium onions, chopped
    3 large carrots, sliced
    3 celery stalks, sliced
    1 can whole tomatoes
    2 qt. water
    4 chicken bouillon cubes
Preparation
    In large kettle, heat oil.
    Brown chopped beef; add onions, carrots, celery, tomatoes, water and bouillon.
    Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 2 hours until beef is tender.
    Add 1/3 cup barley; simmer another 50 minutes.
