Caramel Popcorn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. popped popcorn
    1 c. firmly packed light or dark brown sugar
    1/2 c. margarine
    1/2 c. Karo syrup (light or dark)
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Place popcorn in large shallow roasting pan.
    In heavy 1 1/2 to 2-quart saucepan, stir in sugar, margarine and corn syrup. Stirring constantly, bring to boil over medium heat.
    Without stirring, boil 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in vanilla and baking soda.
    Pour over popcorn, stirring to coat well.
    Bake in a 250\u00b0 oven, stirring every 15 minutes, 1 hour.
    Remove from oven. Spoon popcorn onto large pieces of foil.
    Break apart as popcorn cools.
    Makes about 3 quarts.
