Sweet And Crunchy Popcorn And Nuts - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 c. fresh-popped popcorn
1/2 c. salted peanuts
1/2 c. dark raisins
3/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1/3 c. light corn syrup
1/2 tsp. ground allspice
1/4 tsp. salt
6 Tbsp. butter, cut in pieces
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Heat oven to 250\u00b0.
Combine popcorn, peanuts and raisins in a 9 x 13-inch pan and set aside.
Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, allspice and salt until well blended.
Add butter and bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes. Increase heat to medium and cook 5 minutes longer without stirring.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Immediately pour over popcorn mixture; stir with spoon to coat. Bake 50 minutes, stirring several times.
Spread on greased waxed paper to cool.
Mixture will harden considerably as it cools. When cool, break into bite-sized chunks before packaging.
It makes about 10 cups candied popcorn.
