Coconut-Pecan Filling And Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. sugar
    3 egg yolks, beaten
    1/4 lb. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/3 c. Baker's Angel Flake coconut
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine milk, sugar, well beaten egg yolks, butter or margarine and vanilla in a double boiler.
    Cook over medium heat in double boiler, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens, about 12 minutes.
    May have to cook a little longer than 12 minutes in order for mixture to thicken.
    Remove from heat; add coconut and pecans.
    Beat until cool and of spreading consistency. Makes enough frosting to cover tops of 3 layers of German chocolate cake.
