2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Tip 1:
If you are caught without confectioners sugar, make your own in minutes!
Combine 1 cup regular granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon cornstarch in blender.
Blend until powdery.
Yields 1 1/2 cups.
