Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 lb. beef stew meat
4 Tbsp. cooking oil
1 (48 oz.) can V-8 juice
1 c. chopped onion
4 tsp. instant beef bouillon granules
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried thyme
4 1/2 c. cubed, peeled potatoes
4 c. sliced carrots
2 c. sliced celery
Preparation

Place flour in a plastic bag.
Add meat cubes, shaking to coat.
In a large frying pan, brown meat in hot oil.
In a Dutch oven, put juice, onion, bouillon granules, garlic, basil and thyme.
Bring to a boil and add meat.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
Add potatoes, carrots and celery.
Cover; simmer for another 1 1/2 hours.
Makes 8 main dish servings.
