Cherry Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can pie cherries
    2 1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. Coca-Cola
    2 small pkg. cherry jello
    1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine cherries, 1/2 cup water and sugar in saucepan; boil 5 minutes.
    Mix jello with 2 cups boiling water; add Coke.
    Cool until mixture begins to thicken slightly.
    Add cherry mixture, nuts and pineapple.
    Refrigerate.
    Yields 12 servings.
