Paska (Slovak Easter Bread) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 cake yeast (2 oz.) or 3 pkg. dry yeast (not RapidRise)
2 c. lukewarm milk
1 Tbsp. sugar
8 c. flour, divided
1 c. butter (2 sticks), softened
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 box (12 oz.) raisins
Preparation

Crumble yeast into small
bowl; add 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 cup lukewarm milk and 1
cup
flour.
Mix
and
set aside to rise. Cream butter and 1
cup
of
sugar;
add
eggs
and mix well.
To egg mixture,
add
remaining flour, alternating with yeast mixture and remaining milk.
Knead until dough is smooth and elastic. Place in greased
bowl;
cover
and set aside in warm
place until doubled
in
bulk.
