Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 c. diced, peeled apples
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 c. chopped nuts
    whipped cream or ice cream
Preparation
    In mixing bowl cream softened butter, sugar and egg.
    Stir in dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture.
    (Batter will be very thick.)
    Stir in apples, nuts and vanilla.
    Spread into a greased 8-inch square baking pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
    Yields 9 servings.
