Hickory Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1/2 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. coconut
    1 c. chopped hickory nuts
Preparation
    Cream together Crisco, butter and sugar.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each one.
    Add flour, sifted together with soda and salt.
    Add alternately with buttermilk and vanilla. Stir in coconut and nuts.
    Fold in egg whites, beaten until fluffy.
    Bake in 3 greased and floured 9-inch pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
