Old Fashioned Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 3 1/2 lb. boneless beef roast (chuck, rump or round)
    1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
    2 1/4 c. water
Preparation
    In heavy pan or Dutch oven brown roast in 2 tablespoons oil. Add soup and water.
    Cover tightly and simmer for 2 1/2 hours or until tender, turn occasionally.
    Potatoes, carrots, celery or onion may be added and simmer another 20 to 30 minutes.
    Thicken gravy if desired.
