Aunt Avis' Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar
    1 c. evaporated milk (Carnation)
    pinch of soda
    2 c. pecans
    1/2 stick butter
Preparation
    Heat 1 cup sugar and milk while melting the other 1 cup sugar in heavy pan.
    Combine the two mixtures.
    Add soda (be careful, this boils up quickly).
    Add pecans immediately.
    Boil slowly to 237\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Beat by hand and add butter.
    Pour out to harden.
    Break into pieces.
    Enjoy!
