Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks real butter
    1 c. Karo
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. sugar
    1 can Eagle Brand milk
Preparation
    Stir together until butter is melted.
    Cook over medium heat until candy thermometer reaches 240\u00b0.
    Remove from stove and add nuts if desired.
    Pour into 9 x 13-inch buttered pan.
    Chill until set.
    Cut
    and wrap in waxed paper.
