Gooey Butter Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (.06 oz.) yeast cake
2 1/2 c. flour
confectioners sugar
1/4 c. vegetable shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. warm milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix sugar with shortening and salt.
Add egg.
Beat with electric mixer 1 minute or until well blended.
Dissolve yeast in warm milk.
Add flour, then milk-yeast mixture and vanilla to dough batter.
Mix 3 minutes with electric mixer (use dough hook if available).
Turn dough out on floured board and knead for 1 minute.
Place in a lightly greased bowl; cover with a towel and set in a warm place to rise for 1 hour.
