Grandma Bonnie Taunton'S Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1-inch piece paraffin wax
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. Karo syrup
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 c. raw peanuts
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cook all ingredients, except soda, until temperature reaches 300\u00b0 on candy thermometer or the peanuts pop in the pan.
    Stir in soda and pour on a flat buttered pan.
    Allow to cool completely. Break into small pieces.
