Camp Fries(Chuckwagon Grub) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. thinly sliced raw potatoes
    2 thinly sliced medium onions
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. bacon fat or lard
Preparation
    Toss potatoes, onions and seasonings together.
    Heat bacon fat in a heavy skillet; add potato mixture.
    Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes.
    Turn potatoes.
    Cover and cook 15 minutes more.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
