Meringue Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. sugar
    chocolate chips (optional)
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until frothy.
    Add salt and vanilla.
    Beat until soft peaks form.
    Add sugar, a little at a time.
    Beat until a little rubbed between your fingers no longer feels grainy.* Drop by teaspoonfuls on a cookie sheet, covered with foil. Bake at 275\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until lightly brown.
    Makes about 35 cookies.
