Sheepherder'S Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. margarine, cut up
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    7 1/2 to 8 c. flour
Preparation
    Heat water, sugar, margarine and salt until warm.
    Pour mixture into large bowl; stir in yeast.
    Cover; let stand about 15 minutes in a warm place, until mixture is bubbly.
    Stir in 4 cups flour, beating to form a thick batter.
    Stir in 3 more cups of flour to make a soft dough.
    Knead enough remaining flour to a moderately stiff dough.
    Shape into a ball.
    Put into a greased bowl and grease top.
    Cover and let raise until double.
