Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large apples
    1/3 c. plain flour
    1 stick butter
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    3/4 c. sugar
    Cool Whip
    chopped pecans
    cocktail cherries
Preparation
    Cook ingredients except apples over medium heat until thick. Cool completely!
    Peel and dice apples.
    Mix with cooled sauce and pour into an ungreased 9 x 13-inch dish.
    Top with Cool Whip. Sprinkle a few chopped pecans and cocktail cherries with stems on top.
    Chill.
    Serves 12+.
