Grandma'S Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 green pepper, cut in strips
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 lb. lean ground chuck
    1 tsp. seasoned salt
    1 tsp. monosodium glutamate (optional)
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 qt. (1 lb. 12 oz. can) whole tomatoes
    1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
    2 c. water
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. uncooked wide noodles
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella, sliced
Preparation
    In Dutch oven, saute onion and green pepper in butter or margarine for 3 minutes.
    Add ground chuck and brown meat, breaking up meat with spoon as it cooks.
    Add seasoned salt, monosodium glutamate (optional), pepper and sugar.
    Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce and water.
    Heat mixture to boiling, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
    In a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan, layer tomato meat mixture, and noodles.
    Top with Mozzarella cheese.
    Make sure noodles are well covered by sauce.
    Cover pan with aluminum foil and bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 45 minutes.
    Cut and serve as you would lasagna.
    Makes 8 to 10 servings.
