Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening (butter)
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. allspice
    3 tsp. cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. nuts
    1 c. jam
    1 c. raisins
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together; add beaten eggs.
    Sift flour; add to spices and salt.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add this and flour mixture alternately to egg-sugar mixture.
    Add jam and nuts. Bake in 325\u00b0 oven for about 2 hours if in tube pan; about 40 minutes if in layer pans.
