Buttercream Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. granulated sugar
    2 sticks (1 c.) salted butter, softened
    1/2 c. half and half or whole milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Mixture will still be gritty at this point. Combine half and half, vanilla and salt. Heat in microwave until warm, not hot. Very gradually add the liquid to the butter, sugar mixture, beating on high. Scrape bowl in between each addition of liquid. When all the liquid has been combined, you will have the lightest buttercream frosting ever. Spread on cake and refrigerate a couple of hours before eating. It's not good until it is cold.
