Blueberry Muffin Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. soft shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg, unbeaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. fresh blueberries
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Grease well a 9 x 9 x 1 3/4-inch baking pan.
    Sift flour with baking powder and salt and set aside.
    In medium bowl, with mixer at high speed, beat shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla until well blended.
    Add milk; blend at low speed until combined.
    Add flour mixture and beat one minute longer.
    With rubber scraper, gently fold in blueberries.
    Turn batter into pan. Bake 30 minutes.
    Cool slightly.
    Good warm or cold.
    (If you use an 8 x 8-inch pan, bake a little longer.)
