Homemade Cracker Jacks - cooking recipe
Ingredients

10 c. popped popcorn
1 1/2 c. peanuts
1 stick butter
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. dark Karo syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix popcorn and peanuts in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Keep warm in a 250\u00b0 oven.
Melt butter, sugar, corn syrup and salt.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat. Stir in baking soda and vanilla.
Quickly pour over popcorn and peanuts. Toss until well coated. Spread in shallow pan and bake at 250\u00b0 for 45 minutes. Break into pieces and put in covered container.
