All-Round Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    2 egg whites
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. light white syrup
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, syrup and water.
    Cook to soft boil stage. Pour slowly over beaten egg whites, beating constantly.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat until almost cold and stiff enough to hold its shape.
