Beet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. vinegar
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. pickling spices
    juice from 1 can beets
    2 cans beets
    2 cloves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 peppercorns
    1 bay leaf (optional)
    1 green pepper
    1 onion, sliced (optional)
Preparation
    Cook first 4 ingredients 20 minutes, then add remaining and simmer five minutes more.
    Add more juice if needed.
