Asparagus And Peas Casserole(Servings: 12) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans asparagus, drained
    2 cans peas, drained
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 can water chestnuts, chopped
    1/2 c. American cheese, grated
    4 to 6 slices white bread, cut in strips 1-inch wide
    1 stick margarine, melted
Preparation
    Arrange asparagus on bottom of flat casserole or oblong Pyrex dish.
    Mix chestnuts, soup and peas and pour over asparagus. Cover with cheese.
    In small skillet, melt margarine.
    Carefully place bread strips (a few at a time) in margarine to absorb and then arrange bread on top of cheese.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
