Stewed Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. peeled, cooked tomatoes
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 stick butter
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 slices bread, diced and buttered
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
    dash of salt and pepper
Preparation
    Cook tomatoes and juice, brown sugar, butter, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; thicken with cornstarch (dissolved in 1/4 cup water).
    Bake in shallow baking pan with foil cover about 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Remove foil.
    Add crumbs and cheese.
    Return to oven to melt cheese.
