Mom'S Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 to 8 potatoes
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 to 3 cans clams (undrained)
    4 c. milk
    8 oz. cream cheese
    salt and pepper to taste
    Tabasco sauce (optional)
Preparation
    Peel, dice and cook potatoes until tender.
    Set aside.
    Saute onion, then add clams, milk, cream cheese, salt and pepper.
    Blend well.
    Add potatoes.
    Simmer on low for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Garnish with Tabasco sauce, if desired.
    May use fat-free cream cheese.
