Rolled Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. flour
    1/4 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/4 c. shortening
Preparation
    Sift
    flour
    and salt.
    Cut in shortening.
    Mix egg and milk; stir until well blended.
    Knead lightly about 30 seconds on floured cloth.
    Roll out very thin and cut into strips and allow to dry on board 30 to 40 minutes.
    After cooked chicken is removed,
    drop dumplings one at a time in broth.
    If broth does not
    cover
    dumplings
    add a little milk.
    Cover and let simmer 20
    minutes.
    After
    10
    minutes cooking, place cooked chicken
    on top to reheat.
    Replace cover and continue cooking 10 minutes longer.
