Hash Brown Potato Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. pkg. hash brown potatoes
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    10 oz. American cheese, grated
    1 pt. sour cream
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 stick butter
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In an extra large baking dish, melt 1 stick of butter.
    Pour off excess into mixture of potatoes, onions, soup, cheese, sour cream, salt and pepper.
    Mix well and pour into casserole dish.
    Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of bread crumbs over the top.
    Bake 1 hour.
