Nana'S Eggnog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 qt. milk
    2 to 2 1/2 c. bourbon or rum or 2 Tbsp. rum extract
    1 pt. whipping cream
Preparation
    Separate eggs.
    Beat yolks with 1 cup of the sugar.
    Stir in milk and liquor (or extract).
    Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry, adding 1/2 cup sugar.
    Fold into milk and yolk mixture. Beat whipping cream and fold in.
    Chill several hours.
    Serve with freshly grated nutmeg.
    Serves about 20.
