Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. Crisco oil
pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
5 c. flour (unsifted)
5 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, oil, salt and vanilla. After measuring flour, sift together with the other dry ingredients.
Mix well.
Roll dough into balls slightly smaller than a walnut.
Dough will be soft.
Roll ball in sugar.
Flatten with the bottom of glass dipped in sugar.
Allow room for spreading.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or lightly browned in 350\u00b0 oven. These cookies are not supposed to get brown.
