Date Nut Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. white Karo
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. condensed milk
    1 (8 oz.) box pitted dates
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook sugar, milk and Karo to soft ball stage (240\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
    Let cool 3 minutes.
    Add chopped dates.
    Cook 5 minutes and stir well.
    Beat until it begins to thicken.
    Add pecans and vanilla.
