Easy Cherry Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. milk
    1 can (16 oz.) red sour pitted cherries, drained
Preparation
    Melt butter in 9-inch square pan.
    Combine 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder and milk, mix until well blended.
    Pour over melted butter, do not stir.
    Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup sugar over cherries.
    Do not stir.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour.
