Salmon Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can salmon
    1/2 c. milk
    3 c. breadcrumbs
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/3 c. salmon liquid
    3 egg yolks, beaten
    2 Tbsp. chopped green peppers
    2 Tbsp. chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Drain salmon; save liquid.
    Flake salmon.
    Heat milk.
    Add breadcrumbs and butter or margarine.
    Let stand 5 minutes.
    Add salmon liquid and beat until smooth.
    Add egg yolks, green pepper, onion, lemon juice, pepper and salmon; mix well.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Pour into a well-greased 1 1/2-quart loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes or until firm in center from oven and let stand 5 minutes.
    Loosen from sides of pan with a spatula and invert on a serving platter.
    Serve plain or with a sauce.
