Hot Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
    1 1/2 c. scalded milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    5 1/2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
Soften yeast in water; add sugar, salt and shortening to the scalded milk and let cool to lukewarm.
Add about 2 cups of the flour to milk mixture.
Beat thoroughly and then add the softened yeast and beaten eggs.
Add more flour to make a soft dough (approximately 3 1/2 cups).
Turn onto a lightly floured board and knead until smooth.
Place in a lightly greased bowl and brush the top of the dough with shortening.
Dough may now be placed in refrigerator and stored for future use or let it rise until doubled in bulk.
