Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    2 oz. red food coloring
    2 1/4 c. cake flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. white vinegar
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream butter with sugar, add eggs.
    Make a paste of the food coloring and cocoa.
    Add to the creamed mixture.
    Add alternating buttermilk with sifted flour and salt.
    Then add vanilla.
    Add soda to vinegar.
    Hold over the bowl as it foams.
    Then blend into the cake mixture.
    Pour into 2 greased and floured 1 inch pans.
    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool on wire rack, when cool, split each layer into 2 layers.
