Sauerkraut - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4-inch thick salt pork or bacon, diced
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 large head cabbage, shredded
    1 c. water
    1 large can sauerkraut
    1/4 c. barley
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    In a large pot, saute chopped onion and diced pork.
    Turn down heat and add the cabbage, water, sauerkraut and barley.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Simmer 1 1/2 hours.
