Danish Puff Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sifted flour
    1/2 c. butter
    2 Tbsp. water
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. almond flavoring
    1 c. sifted flour
    3 eggs
Preparation
    Measure first cup of flour into bowl.
    Cut in 1/2 cup butter. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons water and mix with fork.
    Round into ball and divide in half.
    Pat each piece on large cookie sheet into 2 long 12 x 3-inch strips.
    Strips should be 3-inches apart on ungreased sheet.
    Mix second amount of butter and water.
    Bring to rolling boil.
    Add almond flavoring and remove from heat.
    Stir in flour immediately to keep it from lumping.
    When smooth and thick, add 1 egg at a time, beating until smooth.
    Divide in half and spread 1/2 evenly over each strip of pastry.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 60 minutes until crisp and browned.
    Frost with powdered sugar icing and chopped nuts.
