Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. dates, chopped fine
1 lb. nuts (pecans or walnuts)
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
6 eggs, separated
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients with dates and nuts.
Add beaten egg yolks and vanilla.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Bake 2 1/2 hours at 250\u00b0 in tube pan (ungreased) in middle of oven.
Place deep cookie sheet of water on rack below it while baking.
