Applesauce Frenchies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. applesauce
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 eggs
    8 slices white bread
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. milk
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Mix 2 cups (one 1 pound jar) applesauce, butter, cinnamon and nutmeg and heat.
    Beat eggs and milk with a dash of salt.
    Dip 8 slices of bread into this mixture and brown on both sides in hot butter or margarine.
    Place applesauce mixture between 2 slices of toasted bread and on top.
    Makes 4 servings.
