Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. (2 1/4 c.) green split peas
    1 (1 1/2 lb.) meaty ham bone
    1 1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. diced carrots
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 tsp. salt or to taste
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    6 c. water
Preparation
    Place all ingredients in crock-pot.
    Cover and cook for 8 to 10 hours at low.
    Remove ham bone and dice meat.
    Return meat to soup.
